Hi everyone,
Sure enough, I determined that my LE Steam deck 1tb unit with a BOE panel has 3 dead pixels, 2 green and 1 blue. I used this website to check for dead pixels: https://lcdtech.info/en/tests/dead.pixel.htm
I’ve also run that seizure inducing, flashing YouTube stuck pixel video to try and fix the pixels, but they’re still black, which I assume means they’re dead.
Has anyone else had success with any other tests, or if you were me would you start the RMA process and just go without the Steam Deck this holiday?
I’m leaning towards a full cash refund, but if there are other solutions I would love to know if you’ve found them.
Thanks!
Found a dead pixel on my LE tonight. Was gonna just order another LE and return this one when the new one arrives but they don’t let you order more than one. Waiting on supports response.
I tried all that. No other option then to start rma. I’m waiting for them to respond but I am going to ask if I can refund and purchase another LE so it’s faster. If not I’ll just RMA.
I also have 3 dead pixels on my LE and received a non LE 1TB deck today and was able to compare the 2 side by side. The Samsung display that comes on the non LE panel has a much more pronounced mura effect and if that’s something that would bother you I would recommend sticking with the LE. I’d rather live with the dead pixels than look at a grainy screen.
