This is going to sound dumb. Will be getting a Deck tomorrow. But i bought a bunch of games from steam during the autumn sale and i bought a few under the, “Great for deck” category. Wanted to ask, does the category matter? As in, can i buy a game from lets say a normal pc category and verify it from the deck? Or only the games on the “great for deck” are playable. Sorry. Stupid question. But thank you for the time to reply.

The verification system is a guideline, not a rule. Most of the times, unverified games will work fine, with no more effort on your part than setting a proton version. And sometimes you won’t even have to do that much.

Only real exception is ones that are unverified due to anticheat reasons, or ones that say “graphics can’t be configured to run well on Deck.” And even that latter category usually “can” be configured to run well enough with enough work.

    So yeah, don’t worry.
