For two weeks now I haven’t been able to launch ANY non steam app or game from game mode. It’s every game or app right from Lutris installed games, heroic launcher, chiaki, emudeck games and streaming apps. Nothing works.

When i press play it doesn’t even go to the launching screen and then exits. It’s just stuck at ‘Launching’ displaying next to the Play button which has now turned blue and says ‘Cancel’.

The weird thing is, that it launches just fine from desktop mode. I’ve tried with multiple games installed with Lutris and they launch just fine but when i enter Game Mode my problem occurs.

I’ve already tried verifying runtime and proton files and I can’t run Lutris through game mode either.

Any help is very much appreciated and needed.

    That’s super weird. Not running anything, even something like chiaki is not what I’d expect if it were a proton issue.

    Just to be clear, you have actually restarted the Deck at some point in this process, right? Not just put it to sleep constantly? Because if not, that might be causing it.

    Beyond that… Are you using a sleep or wake video, especially a third party one? I recall at one point there was a bug involving this that had similar symptoms. Boot videos aren’t affected, but sleep/wake ones are.
