Anyone have an idea how to troubleshoot this? Anyone have an experience like this?

Bad charger?

Bad battery?

Bad Deck?

It took like 10-15 minutes to go from 1-5%. Doesn’t seem right.

That sounds like it might be a bad charger that’s not doing the pd-handshake. I would try another 45w rated PD charger to see if it’s any different. Make sure you use a pd charger and don’t use a USB-A to C cable or anything. That’s not the PD spec.

If it’s no different, then you got a problem on the steam deck side.

After plugging it into the other room and then back where I was originally plugged in, with the same OEM charger, the ETA now says 1:11 instead of 4:30-5:00. This better not be an ongoing issue. Hopefully I can chalk it up to battery calibration.

Have you tried a different charger with PD? Are you charging via a dock with the OEM charger? Have you tried charging your phone with the OEM charger? You should be able to rule out the charger fairly quickly. Unfortunately, you have to start eliminating variables to determine where the issue might be.

Charging from low percentages can be fairly slow in a lot of devices to preserve battery health. Once it charges a bit more, maybe at 10 or 15%, the charge time should speed up significantly.
