Hello,

so I have a Wifi-6 Network at home.

It consists of a router and a repeater in the first floor.

When I use my SteamDeck it almost always connects to the repeater, even if stand right next to the Router.

This Screenshot was taken when I was next to the router and the repeater was a floor above me.

Is there a way in KDE Plasma to set Priorties for the Network “Acces Points”?

cant you set the repeater with a different name/SSID? thats what I do at my house

I have my router with WIFI and then the repeater with WIFI-Repeater. then in the steamdeck you simply choose which one to connect to in the wifi settings

That would be the last option. It goes a bit againt the whole Idea of the “mesh” function of my network. And all other devices work as expected. Meaning they choose the closest access point.

My Deck was sitting right under my router and only connected to the 5ghz band. I had to give the 6ghz band its own SSID before it would even connect. After I did that, nothing the Deck did with transfers or downloads was improved with the better connection.

I’m thinking the networking in Deck (or Linux?) is just a bit shit.
