Got my Steam Deck OLED 1TB (regular) today and it’s absolutely perfect in every aspect. The screen is beautiful and i have no dead pixels. In my opinion it is worth it to upgrade from Steam Deck LCD if you are satisfied with the performance. I’d also like to mention how good the new touch screen is. On the LCD model i couldn’t really play anything with touchscreen and typing was hard. On the OLED it feels amazing, just like a phone screen.
Also no more Steam Deck fan smell…
What panel do you have? While it seems everyone here is assuming Samsung, I’ve read that the standard 1 TB comes in both flavours: Samsung and BOE.
You mean like 99% of the decks? Reddit, as always, is just bloated by people complaining. People receiving a flawless deck dont post “oh yeah i got exactly what i ordered”, but most of the people with complaints make a post or add to someone elses.
Flawless decks are the norm, not the exception!
Most people probably don’t even check for dead or stuck pixels. Even if they did, they likely wouldn’t post their results on Reddit. We have no idea what the frequency is, but downplay away.
No more fan smell? Sniffing it is one of my guilty pleasures 😁
I was so sad when my original steam deck’s fan smell faded away. Was hoping to smell it again but nope
Also no more Steam Deck fan smell.
You said the perfect Steam Deck OLED exists
Yes u got the Samsung panel which has the best touch response like a iPhone screen
Has the OP confirmed they have the Samsung panel?
How are your sticks? My LE sticks make a click sometimes when moved from the neutral position. Seems like a common thing with the steam deck sticks but I find it annoying. The rest of my unit is perfect.
I know 2 people other than me who also have a steam deck and their units have the same click sound. My lcd and oled both have it too. My lcd model seems to have gotten quieter with time, probably wore down (comparing to my new oled). I’ve had the lcd model for a year and used it a lot. I think it’s meant to be this way.
Thanks for the info, my right stick is louder than the left and does it more often. Hopefully it will get better over time.
