    Look for something with at least a Ryzen 3 / Intel Core i3 and 8gb RAM. Storage size doesn’t really matter, just get whatever you think you can deal with since on most laptops you can upgrade it later if you want, and ssds are getting pretty cheap now. Also watch out for Windows in S mode, since it can’t run steam. And don’t expect any laptop under $500 to play any 3d games from the past decade. But you should be good for like 90% of 2d games. Pretty much any laptop with a brand name you’ve heard before won’t have any issues with basic school stuff.
