Hello all,
My steam deck just arrived yesterday. I tested it out and it works great on some of the games I tried (Bioshock, darksiders 2 enhanced, Alan wake) My questions are as followed:
-
To install gamepass and playstation remote play does this require a keyboard.
-
If I buy the dock, can I reinstall steam os from regular USB after changing ssd?
-
Does the desktop environment require a keyboard to work?
-
If I set up steam link, how bad is the latency?
-
Which docking system is the best?
-
If I want to dual boot windows, how much is the deck hampered?
Thank you!

- No, but you’ll want one because gamepass streaming involves punching in long commands into the terminal and these are painful to type with the onscreen keyboard.
- Yes. Any dock.
- No, but it’ll help. You can use the onscreen keyboard for everything you’d use a physical keyboard for, but it’ll be a much less pleasant experience.
- Okay now, but not as great as sunshine + moonlight, IMO.
- Honestly, any dock with the ports you want should be good.
- Not terribly much if you set it up right.
