I’ve had my Steam Deck for about 7 months and I’ve upgraded the SSD to 1 tb and gotten a 256 gb micro sd card. I’m almost out of room but I don’t want to uninstall my games. Does valve have something I can connect my Deck to so I can store some of my games in and come back to later? Also, I have thought about upgrading the SSD to 2 tb and getting a 1tb micro sd but I feel that would cost way more money. I also heard some 2 tb SSD are slower than 1 tb but I’m not sure. Can I get some advice?
Valve themselves don’t, but literally any external SSD (either a normal external SSD or an SSD in an enclosure) will do what you want. You’ll need a dock or hub with passthrough charging if you want to do that plugged in though.
You can use an external dock with NVMe slot. But at that point why not just get a 2TB NVMe.
The SN770/SN740 maxes out the PCIe 3.0 lanes. It is just as fast as the 1TB in my brief tests before upgrading the drive.
Install 2TB ssd and 1TB micro sd. Problem solved.
Just get several SDcards and swap them whenever you need
