I use a 2008 Dell Inspiron laptop as an office PC. I upgraded the CPU, which would be absurd for a new notebook. I also upgraded to 4 GB DDR2, and an SSD. It still works great!
I think it’s always best to keep things maintained and continue using them instead of buying new things. Maybe some of us have a bunch of old stuff laying around. But what stuff are you still using?

I have a case and an 80mm fan from the early 2000s that is my main rig.
Antec Sx1030 I think. It’s been through 4 or 5 CPUs, currently runs a 5800x3d and a 4070.
Did you know some cases have power supplies on the bottom now? I only learned that about a year or two ago.
I still have a PS3 that I fire up on occasion.
Emulation for PS3 has improved a lot, but I don’t think it’s quite at the point where I’d be happy getting rid of it.
I also have a couple PS2s still hanging around, but emulation for PS2 is at that stage, so I haven’t fired them up in a while.

I have an EVGA 850W G2 PSU I bought in early 2015 powering my 13700K and 4090. It’s working fine, but it is old and powering some expensive stuff so I’m not sure if I should be looking for a replacement. I also have a Corsair K70 keyboard from 2015. MX brown switches and red LEDs only. I’m kinda hoping it breaks so I have an excuse to upgrade. And then I have a Galaxy Note 4 from 2014 that’s purely my bedside clock. The clock moves around so the screen doesn’t have burn-in.
I have an old heatsink for an i486 that now cools the chipset in my NAS motherboard. Bought a used board for parts originally just to find out it literally only needed heatsinks and a new CPU power connector.
I have a Logitech UltraX keyboard in use with my primary computer. Has to be 20 years old.
I have a Firewire PCIe card and a Focusrite Saffire Pro audio interface. Think I got that in 2011.
I think it’s mostly interesting to hear what very old hardware people have in use with/as their primary PC than as a secondary PC, router, NAS, etc. I think we all shift our old hardware to those tasks.
i use a Samsung Syncmaster B2230 as my monitor, going on 12-13 years old and still works a charm for my 1080p 72hz needs

Use it for old software and games.

Honestly still a beast to this day.
PowerEdge R720 built probably around 2013 still kicks ass. Of course, I only bought it a few years back, so “it’s new to me”. But the hardware is quite old.
A new PowerEdge would probably be in around $15k + .
Do speakers count?
I use a pair of JBL speakers that came with Compaq pcs in 2000-2001.
And a Microsoft sidewinder steering wheel from that time too.
I also own a SNES but haven’t used it in years.
My beloved Microsoft ergonomic mechanical keyboard. It’s about 30 years old and only now are some of the key labels starting to wear off. (Still using it.) My new keyboards lose their labels in less than 6 months.
