Which PS4/PS5 games have you completed and how was your experience? I may get a Steam Deck and these days I’m finding that a lot of my gaming is in bed instead of on the couch. Thanks

Most of my use of Chiaki has been from the couch a few feet away, while my partner is watching something on TV. I’ve finished Kingdom Hearts 2, Birth by Sleep, and Hogwarts Legacy via Chiaki + SD.

It’s not perfect and can feel a little stuttery sometimes, but other than those rhythm mini games in KH, nothing has been so bad that I’ve felt I need to switch back and play locally.

I completed Spider-Man 2. sometimes I got green and white flickering, but somehow the Steamdeck connected to 2,4 ghz. I splitted the WiFi to 2,4 and 5 ghz and connected the steamdeck to 5 ghz. Now I have no problems while streaming. If the ps5 is on sleep mode you can even remote start the ps5.

Got my steam deck a few months ago, mainly to remote play my backlog from ps4 pro. So far i have completed stray, god of war 2018 and cyberpunk. Right now i am playing assassin creed valhalla, elden ring and some ocassional fc 24. I cant recommend it enough. Steam deck is not only a steam backlog cleaner, it also works for playstation

I have not completed any game in deck but occasionally played quite a few game from time to time. According to me any 3rd person, platformer game works great. I would stay away from competitive game. Other than that you will really enjoy it. Use chiaki4deck and download proper controller profile and you are good to go

    My setting: 1080p

    30000 video bitrate

    19200 audio bitrate

    H265

    Hardware decode: vaapi

I was able to finish my first playthrough of Elden Ring recently and I was very impressed with the low lag that I experienced. After beating that game I’m convinced this is one of the best handheld experiences for playing pc and ps5 games.

For some reason to me chiaki looks like shit compared to moonlight and steam remote play. I can’t figure it out but I can’t enjoy a game using chiaki

Playing a lot of Horizon Forbidden West with chiaki4deck - flawless and beautiful 60fps on the OLED. Even mimics dual-sense haptics.

Jedi survivor, spider man 2, Ragnarok, Hogwarts legacy and a few others. Loved every second and had amazing experiences with the streams performance

I didn’t see it here but I wanted to add that on top of being a backlog cleaner, you can still use your connected peripherals. I sometimes use my connected pulse headset when playing and it has 0 issues. I’m sure there is a lag but nothing that I notice. I’ve played FPS like far cry 6 to input dependent games like Jedi Survivor and haven’t felt like the deck inhibited my experience. I do sometimes get a green screen but a quick pause or 360 camera spin clears it. I just finished Spider-Man with it and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s great being able to play my PS5 when I want without hogging the TV. My wife can watch her show and I can play all at the same time

Just played the whole of Alan Wake Remastered. My PS5 is wired, steam deck is WiFi. Works great. Originally ps5 was on WiFi it was unplayable with input lag, now it’s perfect

Man that’s my worry. My PS5 would be connected to wifi. I have basically no way to get it wired. I may have to get creative…

Originally I had it WiFi both ways. I had input lag, so I restarted my Google WiFi and it was fine for a day then went back to being bad. I restarted it a second time and it was still bad so I went wired.

I guess it could be different for your setup.

Chiaki4deck is amazing. It’s the only way I play PS5 games now. I actually bought a PlayStation Portal thinking that it would be even better than Chiaki due to the bigger screen and DualSense, but I returned it to Sony for a refund 3 days after receiving it on 15th November.

For me, the portal was absolute shit compared to chiaki4deck. Constant stutters that I tried everything to fix, but couldn’t. I’ll take chiaki4deck thanks.

Currently playing Alan Wake 2 and it’s amazing experience on the deck via chiaki4deck.

Wow! You returned the PS Portal? I’d think that it would be a superior experience for Playstation games I was very close to getting it. I’m protesting because Sony decided to exclude bluetooth to be able to sell their new audio product. For $150 more I’d be able to have a mobile gaming PC. That’s great to hear that Chiaki4deck is very comparable in experience

Yeah it was a stuttering mess to be honest.

I loved the 8” 1080p screen and the DualSense haptics, but I couldn’t get rid of the constant micro stutter. Tried everything I could. Definitely a bitrate issue or frame pacing issue. It’ll probably get fixed through firmware updates. I could t justify holding onto it though, when Chiaki gives me a much nicer experience.

I’m keeping an eye in the updates. If the issues get resolved I’ll pick another unit up next year when stock is available again. Quite happy with Chiaki until then 👍🏼
