Seen a guy unironically wanting handheld market to adopt Legion Go’s screen as a standard for future handhelds, and I couldn’t disagree more.

I’d love my future Steam Deck 2 to pack a 7+ inch 1080p bezel-less OLED (optional) screen that’s actually capable of keeping up with its APU for many years to come like the current Deck does without me having to sacrifice the native resolution from the get go.

People tend to talk shit about Deck’s 800p display, but it just made me realize how good of a idea it was in the first place. It ensured longevity and affordable price.

I agree on all points. To my hands, even though I’ve got big lumberjack hands, it’s the perfect size and I don;'t need to squint OR stay further away from the screen ever. A higher resolution display would always mean worse battery life, and the one flaw with the deck as is would be just made worse. If you’ve seen teardowns of it, it will be very difficult to stuff in a much larger cell than it already possesses, and I will never be able to tell a massive difference between 1600p and 800p at that screen size. I agree that a 1080p OLED would be absolutely perfect and anything else would be overkill. Not a huge fan of 16:10 in general, I understand why they did it, but many games have those little black bars and it’sa bit annoying.
