For real, it probably disconnects your steam deck from the session. What happens to the game, I dont know. Likely drops the session on their end as well from connection loss. If they have connection loss protection redundancies, then you should be able to start up at the point you lost connection, or at the very least close to it. If not, then you probably lose alot of progress since last proper disconnect or proper save.
The same thing that happens on any and every platform: the session disconnects, and you have to start the game again when you come back. GeForce Now, for all the good things about it, you’re not getting dedicated hardware. It’s shared resources, so if you’re not actively playing, you’re kicked to make room for others. Make sure you save before you go.
