but why fast charge? just plug it at night. Fast charging = more heat = faster battery health degradation. Mac batteries are expensive to replace

Just bought and M2 Max - selling and moving up - great machine but am future proofing a bit while I can. Who knows what’s gonna happen tomorrow.

Just anecdotal, but aside from testing it out of the box, I’ve never used the MagSafe on my M series MBP.

It’s docked via USBC majority of the time, or if I’m out/around the house I’m not carting a proprietary cable with me I’ll just use an existing USBC cable which will be used for other items too.

I should probably hop off reddit for the next couple weeks after getting an M1 Max this April 😭

Try getting the M2 Max 2.5 weeks ago. I’m literally 5 days over the return window.

Jk, I don’t really care. I knew the M3 was around the corner when I bought mine. I got the M2 Max for a single purpose: to develop for the Vision Pro. It’s going to be enough for that for like the next 6-7 years.

Fully agree that your M2 Max is a beast that will do the job for years, but it’s worth asking Apple anyway - I’ve heard of them swapping in cases like this.

I just bought the M3 Max but tbh if I already had an M1 Max I wouldn’t be too jealous; it’s not a game changer like people (including me) were hoping

maybe by M4 the 3nm process will be stable and they can really crank up performance

For those that didn’t click the link…

Apple’s latest 16-inch M3 MacBook Pro models are able to fast charge at 140W over USB-C with a 240W USB-C cable

    USB C 60w 240w charge cable 2021 and 2022 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M-series [have] … USB-C ports offering only up to 100W.

So it is now 140W vs 100W on prior models.

The 240W is only about the Apple cable.
