should I buy the MacBook M1, which is 256GB and 8GB of RAM, or should I buy Asus ZenBook 14, which is 1TB, 16GB of RAM? And it’s Ryzen 7 7730, but keep in consideration that my computer science college prefers us to use a Windows laptop, because many software they use are only for Windows, but I can download Parallels on Mac, so it’s no problem. So, which one should I pick? Also, the MacBook M1 is about $750, and the Asus is $900. So, the MacBook is $150 cheaper.

I will probably go with the ASUS laptop. I do have an M1 Macbook and I use Parallels too but you can only use Windows ARM with parallels and it will be a problem if the software you’ll be using is not compatible with Windows ARM. I have some software that I use for work that crashes a lot of time in Parallels, and some software just doesn’t run at all.

For school forget the mac. It’s not just would the software can be run on the mac but also the tutorials, files from ur teacher,…Depending on your major, u may have better window choice beside the zenbook.
