I never said Nvidia was better, I said the feedback you get on Nvidia forums isn’t there with AMD because the user base is so small. On Nvidia forums redditors benchmark every new driver and users with different use cases also give feedback. Here you see people asking if someone has tried it (because people are less inclined to tryout new drivers).
First , it seems there was a newer afmf driver for me , the one I was using was oct13 , I saw the one on the preview page is dated oct17 but there is no changelog for that. Weird. Anway.
With my limited to 40w rx 6600:
I just test the fps on the opening scene in front of the sign with the other detective.
oct13 afmf and this “alan wake 2” driver both have the same fps 36 fps with 1080p native low settings and 55 fps with fsr 2 quality (720p upscaled)
however the latest afmf from oct17 seems to be somewhat lower 33fps and 52 fps , yes it is not much but the other two are the same and this is lower you would think something is different with the latest afmf. I don’t know maybe they fixed the chrome hardware acceleration bug that made pc freeze (which was both on first and second afmf drivers but solved with official 10.1 as far as I know)
So TLDR: latest afmf a bit slower than this driver but oct13 afmf has identical performance with this one.
Someone compare this with framegen ones and tell if it better :)
This ain’t r/Nvidia, if you buy an AMD GPU best be prepared to be your own guinea pig when drivers come out/s
I own both nvidia and AMD gpu rigs and that’s just not true. Both have issues. Each has their strengths and weaknesses.

Did my own tests :

Interesting, thanks.
