it still freezing when navigating on chrome or edge? im in 23.9.1
I guess we have to pick between frame gen preview driver or this one.
Just have two Windows installations xD
Not me, AMD refuses to give AFMF to 5k, and now these devs refuse to support the card as well. Both can get bent for all i care.
It seems so, if they don’t drop anything else during tomorrow which I doubt
AFMF doesn’t work on Alan Wake II, got popup saying it expects game running in Fullscreen mode, which is selected in Settings in game and Vsync is turned off. So it seems game isn’t running in true Fullscreen mode tbh
is there an off news page where all this news and new drivers posted?
Which drops you to stable driver branch, and those are preview/pre-release drivers
I wonder if factory reset will ever be back. It should have been fixed by now.
I don’t think Factory Reset will ever return, sadly.
You would think so, hasn’t it been disabled for months now?
This is AMD. Fixing things quickly is not their MO
Is Anti Lag+ in this .
If not sticking with the last preview build with it.
why would u need anti-lag on a single player story game?
No. Anti-Lag+ is disabled for the foreseeable future because it modifies game files that triggers anti-cheats. AMD could bring it back to the single player games but I don’t think they will release it back as is for multiplayer.
Man, I wish they maintained a detailed changelog that lists every version in chronological order.
Alright, what are your bets for FPS on low / 1080p with 7840 mobile igpu?
Hoping for steady 30. 🙏
10 will be generous🙏🏼
10 will be generous🙏🏼
13 on less populated areas 9 on heavy
Do let us know!!! 😆
Is it a driver preview?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMHxkrABRNs the game is going to run like ass either way
So it actually runs on GPUs without mesh shaders, as opposed to not booting at all? Interesting.
so they fixed ONE issue.
Does it fix also the adrenaline OC tuning resetting every reboot ??
if any chance you are using msi after burner or riva tuner that can cause your tuning to reset every boot happend to me when i switched to amd 1 week ago then i uninstalled both it got fixed
Is this like a different branch of drivers because the one that you find if you just follow the drivers page on the AMD website is an older version.
Someone compare this with framegen ones and tell if it better :)
Did my own tests :
First , it seems there was a newer afmf driver for me , the one I was using was oct13 , I saw the one on the preview page is dated oct17 but there is no changelog for that. Weird. Anway.
With my limited to 40w rx 6600:
I just test the fps on the opening scene in front of the sign with the other detective.
oct13 afmf and this “alan wake 2” driver both have the same fps 36 fps with 1080p native low settings and 55 fps with fsr 2 quality (720p upscaled)
however the latest afmf from oct17 seems to be somewhat lower 33fps and 52 fps , yes it is not much but the other two are the same and this is lower you would think something is different with the latest afmf. I don’t know maybe they fixed the chrome hardware acceleration bug that made pc freeze (which was both on first and second afmf drivers but solved with official 10.1 as far as I know)
So TLDR: latest afmf a bit slower than this driver but oct13 afmf has identical performance with this one.
Interesting, thanks.
This ain’t r/Nvidia, if you buy an AMD GPU best be prepared to be your own guinea pig when drivers come out/s
I own both nvidia and AMD gpu rigs and that’s just not true. Both have issues. Each has their strengths and weaknesses.
I never said Nvidia was better, I said the feedback you get on Nvidia forums isn’t there with AMD because the user base is so small. On Nvidia forums redditors benchmark every new driver and users with different use cases also give feedback. Here you see people asking if someone has tried it (because people are less inclined to tryout new drivers).
Didn’t even bother fixing motorsports constant shader optimization process on every start of the game…the latest review doesn’t have this issue, which makes it a driver related problem on amds side
“Factory Reset has been temporarily disabled as a precautionary measure” What does the word “temporarily” mean in AMD’s vocabulary? Because it’s been months already…
