I have 7900XT myself, the case is that we were promised features that would come handy, that aren’t yet available after almost year. FSR3.0 would come handy definetly in Cyberpunk and Alan Wake II to max out settings. Anti Lag+ was total flop too. If we speak pure raster, then don’t get me wrong, I’m happy too with it it is just that everything else is twice as good on competitor cards, and I won’t even start about Ray Tracing
I will chime in as an AMD card user. Nvidia sell you cards with complete feature set, while AMD sell you cards with feature set that might come in the near future. And here is me, almost year later waiting on promised FSR3.0 to be usable besides two games that nobody cares about, and where FSR3.0 was added just to fulfill their promise that it will come in 2023. To grow market share either theineed to provide that feature set togheter with card at launch or be really competitive in price.
And I think sadly we will not see any movement from devs this year too.
Yes fully agree. I was fully sold on AMDs presentation when they launched 7900 series, and when I had a choice between buying 7900XT and 4070Ti, I chose 7900XT because of feature parity AMD promised us, and there was that big uprage about VRAM too back then as I remember. Year later (almost) I’m here, without proper FSR3.0 support they promised us, RT performance is there but it isn’t if we compare, and I sit and think that for my use case I shoid have chosen 4070Ti back then. Tough, I love Adrenaline, that’s a piece of what I missed most when I was on my 1070, where instead of 3 apps that I need to use I could use one.
AMD dropped FSR 3 implementation on those games, to meet deadline they told us about when they first showed us FSR 3. That was appetizer from their side, and now we’re open for waiting game again, could be Q1 2024 as they told us, could be end of 2024, no one knows. But Nvidia gained my respect more, as selling hardware with working features since day 1 is better for consumer, then selling hardware with upcoming features tgat aren’t here yet year later since release, and nobody knows when they will be
Thanks for input about Cyberpunk, will test that out after Alan Wake playtrough, as that’s what I was playing before. But those crashes are interesting, for me latest AFMF driver was pretty stable, and no crashes in AW2 so far after 4 hour game time
It runs pretty fine, altough you can’t use AFMF on game, as even when game is out in Fullscreen mode, driver screams that it isn’t
AFMF doesn’t work on Alan Wake II, got popup saying it expects game running in Fullscreen mode, which is selected in Settings in game and Vsync is turned off. So it seems game isn’t running in true Fullscreen mode tbh
Which drops you to stable driver branch, and those are preview/pre-release drivers

That’s sad to hear tbh, I still don’t understand why Nvidia cuts down so heavily in VRAM. Well, most likely to move their 4090 is most rational explanation
