Yes I get that it kind of sucks having just bought one and then a new one gets announced but some people are in a panic now. Your Deck is not obsolete. It is still the best handheld pc you can buy right now. Enjoy it.

Honestly my first instinct was to sell and replace with the new one, BUT I realized after looking more into it, that it’s only replacing the 550$ and 650$, not the low storage one I got. I would need to sell it (at a loss very likely), then pay more than a $150 MORE than I originally got it for at $400. I DID upgrade to a 1tb drive for 90 bucks as well. Which makes the value proposition even worse to sell then upgrade.

What i’m hoping for now, is that the Steam Deck 2.0 has NO oled options, or at least a $400 or $450 low storage option WITH oled. But yeah, i’m not wasting basically 300 dollars for this. If people end up trying to fit the future ifixit oled screen in the old deck and it works then i’ll totally try that. But if not i’ll just have to wait a couple years for a generational change. Then hopefully i’ll jump on that RIGHT when it comes out. I literally just got the steam deck in August.
