Yes I get that it kind of sucks having just bought one and then a new one gets announced but some people are in a panic now. Your Deck is not obsolete. It is still the best handheld pc you can buy right now. Enjoy it.

Although I can’t shake the feeling that it is, whether that’s true or not. I have the entry level one and frankly I feel pretty shat on. This “refresh” is everything the original should have been and it is incredibly frustrating. No, there isn’t a performance increase but it is overall, again, what it should be. Hell now even the lowest tier comes with 256NVMe? Fuck right off, I know it’s easily upgraded but it feels real, real bad. Color changing LEDs for different indications, now how hard would that have been to implement the first time around? I haven’t had many excuses to even use mine considering I don’t go out much and my main rig is…right there. Knowing this is coming, I’m now hardly even motivated to use mine, knowing how much better the overall experience is/will be. God damnit.

This is how technology goes. Steam Deck 2 or whatever they’ll call it will outclass the OLED when that drops. I’d say I’m a bit miffed myself, but that’s life.
