Yes I get that it kind of sucks having just bought one and then a new one gets announced but some people are in a panic now. Your Deck is not obsolete. It is still the best handheld pc you can buy right now. Enjoy it.

I’m a fairly recent Deck buyer, and I’m gonna get that OLED Deck.

It’s not just about the screen (although it helps). The better wi-fi, the chance to get larger internal storage without needing to open up my current deck to upgrade it myself (and possibly ruin it in the process, I have little faith in my ability to physically mod this thing), the better battery life, and better thermals? Yeah, this is a solid upgrade that saves me a lot of hassle of doing it piece by piece myself.

I’ve also played this thing more than literally any other game playing device I own. I finished both Spider-Man games in the lead up to SM2, am most of the way through ANOTHER CP2077 playthrough, Ace Combat 7 done on Ace mode, Armored Core 6, Sekiro, and a bunch of other games in the six months I’ve had it. If there’s anything I would have changed in that time, it was having to spend less time tethered to a wall outlet, because the battery on this thing didn’t have the staying power I’d like for longer sessions with more demanding games.

With the OLED, I’m getting that and some more. And I can gift this older deck to someone close.
