Nope, still have the launch Switch so I’m not bothered by better screens coming out later.

No. I love my SD and I’m very grateful to have such an amazing device. Happy for those who get an OLED either way. May they enjoy.

I will be ripping the 1TB heart out of my deck, and slapping it into my new OLED deck as soon as It arrives.

My 256gb model is in mint condition, so I reckon 200 - 250 will be a good price for it on ebay

OLED is a slightly nicer screen, again some might value it higher - I don’t at ~$120 for darker blacks. This is subjective - it may be worth the increase to some - now they have the option.

25% increased battery life - very nice - I would love this, but the benefit would only shine on very long flights and longer between finding outlets - if I’m going to be untethered, I’ll play games that give 4h+ already, that 4h becomes 5h.

Processor is a minor perf difference according to the info out there so far. Doesn’t change anything in regards to playing next gen games.

    Additional SSD sizes…

All in all, LCD deck is an amazing piece of machinery already, that has some options for you to pay more for some additional goodies that neither make or break it. This doesn’t invalidate the standard deck in any way.

That display has 90hz refresh rate, up to 1000 nits of brightness, faster touch response, punchy colors, lesser bezels, and better viewing angles. I’m not sure if you had seen an LCD and OLED side by side but the difference is massive.

I just bit the bullet and bought a 1tb ssd to upgrade my deck, so we’re still in the honeymoon period

I’m always docked so the only thing I said was , well you don’t need an OLED to upgrade your discord monitor buddy, you’re doing a great job!

    I still like mine.

Maybe will get a second one for my wife in the future, then I’ll get the OLED and have both.

I will wait for Steam Deck 2 or another further upgrade

I would like to have a better SD than mine, but it’s not necessary if it still works and it’s not like much better

If say, in a month my SD breaks or something, I’ll use that chance to upgrade to OLED. Or at most I can buy the OLED and give my deck to a friend or something

I had mine for over a year but it would suck if u bought urs recently. I think a trade in program with a small fee would be excellent though

There is ALWAYS a chance that tomorrow your hardware you just bought we be superceded by something new. Buyer beware.

I have no regrets about my LCD SD. The only reason I am not using it a lot right now is that I am marathoning Cyberpunk 2077 and such AAA games are just better on PC where you can easily see tiny UI elements and max out graphics without your device turning into a furnace.
