i bought mine last month and kind of hate myself. i literally cannot stand those black bars around the screen and the more battery life… man. i bought the 512gb version used for $500 but it was worth $650 now it’s reduced to $450… i’m in denial about this. mine was worth the 1tb model without those damn black bars. i don’t know if i’ll get rid of mine… maybe later on when it won’t be out of stock or something.
No one can predict the future. Enjoy your damn video games.
People are going crazy over nothing. Suddenly the normal version is not good anymore. The Same shit happens with any other electronics all the time.
Nothing, I’ve had mine for about a year and love it just the same. I typically keep mine docked so the battery and display upgrades don’t really matter to me too much.
If it’s still in stock by my december payday i will probably buy it, and see how much can i get selling my regular steamdeck later.
I;'m mostly annoyed by how little warning we had for this announcement. It’s definitelly not something I can afford with a week notice (especially cause this month I had a lot of unrelated expenses), but if we had 1 or 2 months times before it dropped it would have been easier to put something aside for it.
If it’s solidly out of stock by december I’ll probably won’t bother getting it later tbh. LCD steamdeck still does its job well.
Just be grateful for what you have. Don’t let these sociopaths make you feel like your worth is less because your video games toy is only slightly less great than what they have
Wish I could automatically block users who post this drivel.
I scraped and saved for a year for the 64gb model. So mostly I’m just going to ignore the OLED news. Like when the switch OLED dropped I really didn’t even bother thinking about it.
I also have OLED TV so I’m in no hurry. When there’s more than a 3% upgrade I’ll start saving my pennies again.
Times on my side, I don’t have to spend money on another steam deck when I have one that plays 90% of my old as fuck library.
