Hi all, not very tech savvy, but i’m doing my first gaming since high school because of the steam deck. I absolutely love it, just want a bit more memory, and with black friday coming up I need some help.

My question. Are sd and ssd different? Which one should i buy? I just want to not have to delete games all the time for new ones. Elden ring isn’t going anywhere after all. And Emulating is enticing.

Any help would be appreciated:)

SD = A little thumbnail-size card you slot into the bottom of the device. Caps out at about 100 mb/s read speed.

SSD = a little card you slot into the m.2 slot inside the device, about the size of two quarters next to each other. Caps out at like 3-4k mb/s read speed, also writes at about the same rate.

SSDs are massively faster, not much more expensive, and the only downside is that you need to crack the Deck open to put one in.
