The entire purpose of the Steam Deck is to be a vehicle to sell Steam games because Valve gets 30% of every game sold on Steam.
Get it? Valve is not trying to sell Steam Decks for the sake of selling Steam Decks. They are trying to sell Steam Decks for the sake of you buying Steam Games with those Steam Decks.
If Valve abandons development of Steam OS For the Steam Deck LCD models, that’s millions of units that will become increasingly useless to drive users to buy Steam games with them.
Valve does not ‘win’ if you trash your old Steam Deck and buy a new one. They are not even really making profit off Steam Deck sales. They profit by getting you to buy Steam Games. They have a profit motive to ensure your Steam Deck is a viable Steam Game Buying Machine for as long as reasonably possible.
Over dramatic little bitches. Sheesh.
Think of it like how the original fat PS4 was supported by Sony alongside the ps4 slam and PS4 pro.
