Hey comrades.
I’m in the boat of Oled, it’s the stuff I really waited for, Oled screen + battery were the only stuff I wanted to be improved and here it’s announced.
So now I have the thoughts if I would have an ability to transfer the entire system to the new deck.
Because you know: old modded Witcher 3 versions, modded old Skyrim versions, Emudeck (pirate-hunters, hold on, I have these games bought, but sometimes old versions are better for specific reasons to mod, 1st gen Witcher is running just better on SD).

During the SSD swap I transferred my OS from old SSD to other one with no problems at all.
So I wondering if I will be able to do the same trick with the new Oled deck to save my pre-installed stuff and twicks. And additionally just to insert my microSD to the new SD also with no problems.
What’s your thoughts about this?

I believe so, though just to be safe I’d update to the latest steam os version when oled drops then do the transfer just to avoid any potential issues

Yes I also hope it will work just to swap ssd and sd card. Because I invested hundreds of hours in modding and configuration and optimizing.

I think, it’s always stays the possibility to swap the SSDs, buuut, not sure how some specific data stored in the OS system is dependent on hardware changes.
