Im considering saving up for a Steamdeck, but since its quite a bit of money, id like to hear opinions about whether you think its worth it for the reasons ill list below.

Im admittedly not much of a gamer. I like games, and i can play them for hours on end, but only under certain (mental) circumstances and not often.

I have a laptop, an xbox 360, a ps4 and a switch. The switch is by far the one i use the most, mainly because of the portability. I have some ps4 and xbox games ive been wanting to play but cant get myself to, because the whole thing of needing to stay in one spot, turning the machine and the tv on and connect them, only to not feel up to it and having to put it all back to normal and off. For some reason this is some monumental effort according to my brain. Im blaming my adhd/autism.

Since steam carries a lot of the games available for ps4/xbox360, im considering buying a Steamdeck, so i have those games portable and can start them up and put them down in a moment if i need to.

Would you say this is a good reasoning to invest in a Steamdeck? Why or why not? Thanks!

I would say steamdeck is best bang for buck pc device you can get right now. For anyone new getting into pc devices or gaiming. But since you already have consoles i recommend getting the steamdeck after some of your devices have failed, not right now.

    For me personally, yes.

As a long time PC gamer it’s great investment to carry some of my games with me, and even for new PC gamer who just wants to get into it, I think with a dual boot set up it’s a great deal.

If you’re a new buyer, I strongly reccommend you understand it is a bit of a time sink to get it up and running how you want. Think about the games you wanna play and see how they usually fair on SteamOS.

The only game I have had any issues with is Destiny 2, and any game with an anti cheat built into it. Beyond that, most games run ok.
