Hello,

I’m going to buy one of these as an upgrade from a 12th gen. For 90% gaming usage which do you think would be a better way to go? There is only a $180.00 price difference between the two. I’m going to be pairing this with an MSI Z790 EDGE DDR4 motherboard with 4000 CL14 4x8 ram. I also currently already have a corsair 360 AIO. Does the 14900k have a better memory controller? I’ve also read that APO is only available currently on the 14900k? I’m not sure if that’s accurate or not? Which one would you guys go with? Thx

I’m going to use my 12th gen kn a different computer. From everything I’ve watched/heard the 13 an 14th gen are huge upgrades from 12th gen?

There is an upgrade for sure , and APO is only supported by 14th gen. I have the 14900k and love it , I upgraded from a 5800x3d and my 4090 can fly free now

Thx. I’m leaning that way because the cost difference is so minimal at the moment.

Yes, in Cinebench, Blender, Handbrake video conversion, and 7-zip, there’s a significant difference. There’s also a significant difference if you’re into HWBot stuff like SuperPI, Geekbench, and y-cruncher and your 12th gen doesn’t support AVX512.

For gaming purposes however, you’re looking at 15% at best
