Hello,

I’m going to buy one of these as an upgrade from a 12th gen. For 90% gaming usage which do you think would be a better way to go? There is only a $180.00 price difference between the two. I’m going to be pairing this with an MSI Z790 EDGE DDR4 motherboard with 4000 CL14 4x8 ram. I also currently already have a corsair 360 AIO. Does the 14900k have a better memory controller? I’ve also read that APO is only available currently on the 14900k? I’m not sure if that’s accurate or not? Which one would you guys go with? Thx

The etching machine is more accurate towards the center of the wafer, so they make the same chip many times over and see which ones meet the performance standards. Usually higher end chips come from the middle, and lower end chips the outside. So a 14700k is literally a rejected 14900k. They call it binned instead of rejected because it’s an expected part of chip making.
