Hello,

I’m going to buy one of these as an upgrade from a 12th gen. For 90% gaming usage which do you think would be a better way to go? There is only a $180.00 price difference between the two. I’m going to be pairing this with an MSI Z790 EDGE DDR4 motherboard with 4000 CL14 4x8 ram. I also currently already have a corsair 360 AIO. Does the 14900k have a better memory controller? I’ve also read that APO is only available currently on the 14900k? I’m not sure if that’s accurate or not? Which one would you guys go with? Thx

    Wait, hold up.

You don’t care about the price difference between a 14700 and a 14900, and are concerned about memory performance, yet you plan to purchase a motherboard that doesn’t support DDR5 just to stick with your existing set of RAM - a paltry 32GB across 4 modules, to save a few bucks there??

Bro none of this makes sense. You need to research more about 13/14th gen.

Absolutely want to go DDR5. Moreover, do not fill all the ram slots if you want the best memory performance. Get two high capacity DIMMs and only use those. You lose memory performance running 4 sticks with these cpus.

    I got the gskill 6400mhz 2x 48GB set.

Sticking with your old memory and a motherboard that won’t support the latest generation is nonsensical.
