Since this game was verified for deck, I have been absolutely loving playing this on handheld. I have found settings that I think look awesome, and tbh even at the worst/lowest moments it only goes to about 47-50 fps for me.

I even tried using the high texture pack, which practically maxes out the vram, and it still ran great, but during fights it was dipping into the 30’s so I didn’t stick with it.

Was wondering if there are any other fellow MHW enjoyers on deck ?

As someone who started the Monster Hunter journey on the PSP and even played all the games on the 3DS, having World on a portable device feels right at home. I’m still a bit confused when it comes to emulating, but as soon as I get 4U and 3U running with my old saves, my Steamdeck will transform into the ultimate MH machine.

My struggle is picking between world and rise! I feel like these games should be right up my alley but I’m just not great at them. I’ve played a little bit of each, but hunting solo I can never pull off all the fancy combos and big hits I see in YouTube videos. Always feels like I’m just chipping away at them.

Frieren is fantastic, good taste. Monster hunter’s pretty cool too.

My wife and I are both playing on our decks. However, the Coral Highlands area giving us both flashing green lights and whole screen lights. Tried changing the proton and setting the frames to 40. Any ideas? Anyone else having this issue?

Got 300+ hours on world/iceborne and 2 hours on rise, both on console.

Didn’t really enjoy rise on console as I could tell it was made for hand held and it just turned me off from playing on console.

Got my steam deck on Wednesday, immediately bought world and iceborne dlc followed by rise and sun break dlc.

Playing rise on handheld gives me a much better appreciation for it than on console. Having a blast!

Monster hunter is meant to be handheld as far as I’m concerned. I mostly play it on the ally but the SD does fine with it too. Started a new playthrough on world and rise recently, going back and forth between the two, playing charge blade on world and gunlance on rise. Part of me wants to fire up generations too and fight some monkeys tho, I really miss the apes

The deck verification got me to finally get this on PC and restart the game despite hundreds of hours on PS5.

I’m playing Rise on it right now, but it’s great to know World has been verified if I ever Jump back on there. 😄

MH:W is one of those games I could never get into. But sure enough I decided to try it on my SD tonight and I’m pretty blown away. Graphics and performance are great and the game just clicks for me on SD. Plus the gun builds seem hella dope for a noob.
