So I am turning 18 next week, and I want to upgrade my phone. I had this current one for about 2 years. Plus it’s my 18th birthday so I want something special.
I currently have a Samsung Galaxy A52 model, and me and my dad and I looked on the market, and the best phone that is in our budget is the A54. And I see a lot of people saying it is good as well. Of course it is. It’s the next model in the A series, which has performed really well for me.
The question is, is it worth upgrading from my current one to a phone that is 2 models higher? I am not that much into phones to know if it is worth the upgrade and the money.
Is there something that might be more worth upgrading to that fits in our budget? (about 400-450$)
I am mainly using my phone for gaming, watching YouTube, and taking pictures when on holidays.
Thank you in advance if you decide to help me! If you need any more info, ask.
P.S. I saw a lot of you talking about getting a second-hand s21 ultra from Amazon, but I live in a remote country, and shipping to here will just bump up the price by a lot. I need something on the official market. Or how you say it.
I agree with the propositions, the S21 ultra is a flagship phone that has little significant differences with the current models (which are, of course more powerful). You will get the 10x telephoto lens with can be impressive to shoot far away subjects. What you don’t get is the integrated S-Pen, but if you want one you can buy and carry it separately.
I think you might be disappointed with the S22 series, especially if this is an Exynos model.
I don’t know where you live but since it’s black friday in 2 weeks you could check out some of the online stores from your area for discounted phones that are usually above 500 euros, for example one of the store where I live is currently selling an s21 ultra for 400 euros brand new because of black friday.
You can get a S21 Ultra on Amazon renewed for $375. I still use mine as a work phone when I upgraded to the S23 Ultra. In terms of looks and feel, I do prefer the rounded edges of the S21U. And performance wise, it keeps up with the S23U.
The only difference IMO is the camera is slightly better on the S23U than the S21U. But the S21U still takes amazing pictures and videos.
might not be worth it if the changes are small.
if you’re ok with the used market, and don’t mind losing the 3.5mm jack. I might recommend a used/refurbished S21 Ultra* or fold3 from Amazon or Swappa.
*might not recommend the s22 series at this time. hearing people complain about overheating and poor battery life
I’ve heard tbe A34 and A54 are relatively close in terms of experience. Might be worth going for that to save a bit of money and maybe get some galaxy buds?
Instead of new maybe go for one from 2nd hand market and I’m sure you’ll find even flagships at that price…Also-and thats an ugly truth-Samsungs midrangers are crap really…At that sort of price point there are many other better options
Reviews of A52, A53, A54 seem to imply that they are all quite similar. Not worth replacing an A52 if it is still working well. Find a different birthday present.
If u are looking for an long term device then forget A54 … the processor is not capable of long term usage exynos is shit … I’m an A53 user and I’m facing daily lag on my 1yr old phone … go for pixel or if u are living in USA go to metropc mobile and get an Damm s21fe for cheap it’s good
