The bigger battery, the telescoping 10x telephoto, all that takes space and weights a lot. You will not find a lighter smartphone with a comparable camera system.

There are rumors that the S24U will only have a 5x telephoto lens instead of the 10x. Maybe it will weight less, but probably not much. Besides that, the S23 and S23+ have a good camera system and are significantly lighter, but no 10x telephoto and the main camera is 50 megapixel (which is more than enough). Low light performance has also been improved since the S21 series.

  • Why didn’t you research a little bit BEFORE ordering? The mediocre battery performance and tendency to overheat of the S22 series are well known since it launched back in the beginning of 2022…

OK, the phone is way better than an A10, but it is not the best high end model that you can find and that you will want to keep for years, like the S23 series.

    1. yes except for caller app, I think
    2. it depends on what you are doing. I never found SOT to be a good indicator for my use
    3. no, it is slower charging that wired charging so better in that regard
    4. DeX is not the same as mirroring, it’s providing a desktop-like experience for your apps on the phone
    5. you will be the only one to decide. S23+ is bigger in the hand and heavier but has a bigger and more confortable screen and more battery (I found the normal S23’s battery to be more than enough for my use)

  • Some were hyped to the point to want to install the beta on their main phone in a country that did not allow to participate to the beta program… 🤔

Year after year, new OneUI and Android features are more and more minor. There are a few nice things, but nothing to be excited.

Mind this is pretty much the same on the iPhone side…
