It really pains me to do this, but I have to switch. My Samsung S21 has given me issues for the past 2 years that I’ve had it, and the issue being that it keeps not being able to read my sim card after an update, and I go essentially phone-less for three days until Samsung updates again and “fixes the problem”, only for it to keep happening. It’s happened 5 times now, and I just can’t keep dealing with it. There’s no customer support, I can’t just go to a Samsung store and have it fixed. I really love my phone, but it needs to work as a phone, and it simply just doesn’t.

Nothing wrong with an iPhone. Android can give you more control in some cases but for most iOS is good enough.

Not a Samsung problem, however enjoy your jump to the other side. Both have their positives and negatives.

      • 10 years of iPhone. I can count the bugs and glitches on 1 hand. Even have fingers spare.

I just traded s22+ for iphone 15pro. I’ve had android forever, and Samsung since the galaxy s5. Iphone/iOS is not without issues. Apple support definitely goes the extra mile to help you though. Things that make me miss Android most:

    • Back gesture. Some iphone apps implement it, most don’t. The inconsistentcy is frustrating.
    • Can’t set a custom notification sound per app What?!?!? I get the same notification sound if a squirrel runs in front of my nest cam or an important text message comes in and won’t know until I pick up the phone.
    • Notifications and clearing them is a mess.
    • Combined notification and settings panel that you can get by swiping down on the home screen.
    • Gboard and any customization of the keyboard. Why can’t I choose to have numbers always at the top of the keyboard or have long press special characters. 😭. Gboard for iOS is different, why?? *Dynamic island is stupid and takes up way too much of the screen (although face id is convenient and fast)
    • Google messages in any browser ( I don’t use any Mac)
    • My smart home is all Google based.

The only reasons for me to be on iOS: my wife/kids have iphone and ipad. Makes it easy to control kids’ access to apps and track their location. iMessage SMS nonsense. Got tired of receiving video in messages that contain about 3 pixels… But this is also an on-purpose apple problem which we all know.

I feel like I’m going to desperately miss all of those things too, and like I said, I don’t exactly want to switch , but it’s just so much easier. Everyone I know has an iPhone, I have an iPad, and their customer support is just miles better
