When I was 16 I bought that MacBook and I put a bunch of random stickers on it. I took them off today and they left this residue… how can I get it off without damaging the finish?

Well I got the actual adhesive off with rubbing alcohol but you can still see where the stickers “stained” it if that makes sense… rubbing alcohol isn’t getting that off so I didn’t know if I just keep applying more or if that’s just damage

It’s probably stuck that way. The sticker covered surface either hasn’t “aged” like the uncovered part or the adhesive caused some reaction that changed the finish. If it’s flush and you can’t feel a residue remaining, then you’re probably stuck with it.

oh my bad, sorry. I think it would’ve been helpful to know that though. i think the other guy is right, the metal has “aged” or gotten a sort of patina on it and it just hasn’t done that where the stickers were so i think it might be stuck like that sorry pal
