    The higher resolution screen was never appealing to me for a performance limited device.

    Each their own - it was major surgery for a larger list of drawbacks than advantages.

      For me it was having to re-flash the bios every time there was an update. I could get behind a lot of work one time, could be a fun project to do, but having to re-do work repeatedly when I might not want to is always going to be a no-go for me.

    Hey, they still offer an upgrade path for LCD owners, and it’s a resolution upgrade, which some people want. I think they’ll be OK.

    It was a poor product from the go, I have minimal sympathy for them. The deck struggles with modern titles at 800p, putting a higher res screen in which requires a sketchy custom BIOS was never a good solution.

    Everyone knew Valve would launch an OLED at some point too (wasn’t expecting it this quick but still…) so it’s even worse they went ahead with it.
