After months of hype, Humane, a San Francisco-based artificial intelligence company, on Thursday launched its first product: the AI Pin, a digital personal assistant housed in a tiny, square-shaped piece of hardware.
I mean, not to defend this project because I think it’s still a fail, but that’s not what the primary interface of this is. It’s voice. The idea is it doesn’t need a screen at all and most is done via voice/response. The projector is a side feature
Wait till they learn that every phone already offers the same thing with any pair of wireless headphones, except the gimmicky projector that no one asked for.
This is like a toy for cosplayers. The reviews are going to be brutal.
I say strip it all down to a sleek collar pin that vibrates, and has directional audio so only the user can hear, but it’s not in their ear. Tap to answer calls, or whatever else can be all voice and audio.
For totally cyberpunk styling, do similar, but as some of those bone conducting headphones.
