I have been away from gaming for quite some time, due to lack of time and energy after work.

I have just recently been familiar that the Steam Deck existed, which intrigued me.

The same day they released the OLED version, I almost bought a used one.

The thing is, I can buy a LCD version with 512 GB for about 300 Euro from a friend. And I am not enough of a tech guy to know if the OLED version would do me so much better.

Would I be much better settled with the OLED? Can the 269 Euro more be justified in the case of buying a used versus new?

Or am I buying into a version that will be out of support sooner, if I am going with the “old” one?

    out of support sooner

PCs don’t work that way, especially since the APU is the same, a new OS can be installed decades later easily, and mostly be limited by software requirements like the amount of system RAM (unless it is something like windows 11 which requires some special chip in the hardware, but linux generally does not work like that)

think of the steam deck like you would a laptop
