I know that the “F” series of cpu means that it does not have integrated graphics, but are there any other significant features that are lost too or no? I have a dedicated gpu for gaming already so I should not have anything to worry about I would think.
I’m comparing the 12700k to the kf model.
Like if I were to use any of the Nintendo gaming emulators I don’t think they would be affected. But if I were to try to make a plex server using it, then that would be affected by not being able to use the encoding/decoding I would think.
iGPU is great for Video Encoding/Streaming since it is basically on par in visual quality with Nvenc while also being resource friendly.
Also back up in case GPU dies.
If you have plans to use it for Plex, I would definitely get the iGPU version. I just swapped my 5800x for my nephew’s 12600k mainly for iGPU support for Plex trans-coding.
For Alder Lake+, ECC RAM support has been confirmed absent in a 12900KF vs 12900K and Intel Ark pretty much says the same about the lower F models, albeit you only care about that if you are using an ECC supporting Chipset.
