For people who already own a steam deck, is the extra half a tb of storage worth spending the extra $100? Im planning on using it for mostly emulation and maybe like one big game at a time so i dont plan on overloading it.

Are there any accessories you really reccomend for it?

In my experience, you’ll quickly use it for more than that. It’s too nice having lots of games ready to go at a press, rather than having to wait an hour downloading everything before playing.

Steam deck’s exceptional at having a wide library of fun games. PS5 is limited to PS4-PS5 games. The deck can run a high number of games on any platform from the birth of video games to the present day. It’s intoxicating building a wide library of all time favourites. And unlike my PC, the deck is so easy to pick up and play.

Plus modern games file sizes are only getting bigger, so who knows maybe by next year 1tb might only fit 3-4 modern games.

    Spend tha money

Based on your use case I’d expect the 512gb to be just fine, so long as you don’t have multiple 100gb+ games like Red Dead Redemption 2 eating up your SSD. I’ve been getting by with the 512 and a small SD card that I dump all of the indies onto.

As far as accessories go I do recommend getting a bigger case than what it ships with. It’s nice having a case that actually fits the charger and other small accessories.

I have 3 1TB SD cards that I offload my games on, and create collections in my steam library to organize them. I highly recommend using SD cards like game cartridges. I have 1.3 TB of 2TB on my SSD free with most of my favorite indie games and games that require SSD on my main drive.
