I’m going to start avoiding threads like this one. Whichever panel I have I know I like it, and that’s enough.

I think it’s immensely comfortable, but my left hand starts to fall asleep if I’m playing while laying down for too long.
I tried to make an effort to save mine this time and still lost it in two seconds
Before I got my OLED I never would have guessed that 90hz was the real upgrade. The screen looks amazing obviously. I just didn’t realize how much better games would feel.
It’s funny you mention this because I was going to make a post about the Deck and FPS games earlier.
For whatever reason I haven’t been able to find one yet that feels quite “right”. I was playing Master Chief collection last night and it felt alright, but I can’t get it to feel like playing on console. The aim assist feels really aggressive. Before that I was playing Forgive Me Father (looks great on the OLED btw) and that didn’t feel very good either.
Anyone have any tips? So far I’ve tried lowering the dead zones on the analog sticks and that did help, but I can’t think of what else to try. I just want shooters to feel the way they do on console.
I was playing mine last night and it looks amazing. I’m kind of just assuming that mine has, or will have, a dead pixel at some point. I’m not about to go looking for it, though. Sucks that yours is in a tough spot to ignore.
Spelunky was the first game I tried out and I was amazed how good it felt. It’s just so dang smooth
I don’t particularly care about the limited edition but I’m having a lot of trouble regarding glossy vs etched. I really want to maximize the picture quality. I’m coming from an etched 512 model which I did enjoy. The screen was never good enough for me to care about whether the anti glare affected the picture quality. Now that it will be OLED I want it to look as good as possible.
Based on your use case I’d expect the 512gb to be just fine, so long as you don’t have multiple 100gb+ games like Red Dead Redemption 2 eating up your SSD. I’ve been getting by with the 512 and a small SD card that I dump all of the indies onto.
As far as accessories go I do recommend getting a bigger case than what it ships with. It’s nice having a case that actually fits the charger and other small accessories.
I’m still in love with my Steam Deck. I’m cleaning and prepping mine for sale today so I can order an OLED and I’m weirdly sad about it.
What game is that?
