FOMO
Ah, good ol’ consumerism!
What are yall doing with your old decks? Lol
Then dont come here thats on you dont blame it on others.
I will just get an oled since i dont own one lol.
OG LCD steam deck is awesome. OLED steam deck is more awesome.
Well if it’s any consolation, spend another day on this sub and you will find out every possible flaw your new OLED one can have so you can look for them all until they drive you crazy and you want your LCD back.
Dead pixels tell no tales 🏴☠️
Don’t forget to also check if your case makes any creaking noise, and check if your buttons rattle more than on your LCD. Also you’re an idiot for getting the etched screen because it’s not as sharp, and you’re an idiot for getting the glossy screen due to annoyingly reflections, so make sure to return it and get whichever one you didn’t buy.
id case creaking just as common as with the lcd? if so i may pass on the upgrade, creaking on a $400 (+$200 of upgrades) is more tolerable than creaking on $550 (+$200 of upgrades)
There is a bit of difference, not significant to the layman’s eye tho. I have the antiglare matte finish screen protector on my LCD and I really don’t mind it. So no he’s not an idiot for getting one it’s to each their own. 👍🏼☺️
True, but he was just sarcastically mocking the sub
Sorry I forgot the sub is a single entity that can only have 1 opinion at a time.
so make sure to return it and get whichever one you didn’t buy
You just created an infinite loop of buying one and returning it for the other, endlessly.
Or just buy both.
It’s the only way to make sure you get the best one.
if ever there could be a summary of what this sub is, this would be it
Lmao you had me in the first half. 😂😂
Screen burn ins sure do though.
Or when your deck comes home after running away, you can have two decks. Crisis averted
Honestly I must be the only one who doesnt want to rush out and buy one. Oled is nice, but Ive never looked at the current screen and been dissapointed.
That said I never use outside or whatever.
My only issue with mine is the loose buttons. My LCD deck feels very premium with very in place buttons.
Oled is amazing, but my buttons keep getting stuck and they jiggle and make annoying noise
Exactly I returned the OLED shit a lot of dead pixels fuk valve for fukin us
I always wait for the second version to avoid issues
I’ve seen nothing but problematic posts about the version of the steam deck lol
Mine is awesome! I was impressed with the oled switch but this thing blows it out of the water. That 90hz hdr oled display is amazing
So what you’re saying is this was a $700 prank.
As much as I enjoy the progress of OLED, I’m definately going to wait for Steam Deck 2 before splurging.
ONE OF US
Mine should arrive tuesday… I can’t wait so does the new owner of my LCD. He said he’s already stacked with games from the sale and is watching SteamDeck guides all the time :D
Yep same thing happened to me earlier this week. My LE should be arriving today… Woot!
trust me you will not be disappointed!
It’s a massive upgrade, I went from the 64gb LCD (I was rocking a 1tb microSD) to the 1TB OLED LE. This is how the steam deck should have been from day one.
I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted, I feel the same way. My LCD with the Delta fan is way more annoying at 10-12w than my OLED at 15w. The screen is a fantastic, and games capped in the 30-45fps range look and play better than ever. The battery life is pretty good, still not AAA gaming away from power for very long, but it gets the job done better than before. Paired with the weight reduction and better joystick textures it feels like a huge upgrade to me.
This sub is dangerous
You all make such dumb financial choices, the LCD is still a fantastic device, not worth all this extra money for a steam deck 1.5
Everyone’s financial situation is different. If the toy isn’t putting someone in crippling debt then why should you care? You either support the things you enjoy or they stop existing. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter if it’s a steam deck OLED or a Porsche 911, if you get the smiles per dollar value you were looking for then who are we to judge?
Because before the OLED was announced everyone on this sub thought the steam deck was the second coming of Christ. Their old devices haven’t suddenly got worse - yeah sure if you want to spend quite a bit on the upgrade (selling an old deck may as well be giving it away atm), but people are saying “this sub made me do it”.
You’d be surprised at the number of used Decks sold on eBay in the past couple of days for ridiculous prices. There was a 64GB model sold on there this morning for 320 dollars plus ~70 for shipping. Somebody literally spent $390 for a used 64GB model with no warranty instead of getting a 256GB model directly from Valve for $399 with a one year warranty. So if you’re wanting to sell your Deck right now you can probably find a sucker that will pay you full price and upgrading to the OLED model won’t hurt your wallet that much.
So, I can 100% agree with it’s horrible to make a financial decision based on peer pressure, or blaming it on someone else. This is why so many professional athletes go broke. I think it was Drew Brees who said about the young guys making hundred’s of thousands seeing the dude’s making millions. They were trying to live a the champagne lifestyle they saw on beer money.
Must be tough living paycheck to paycheck.
Oh no, I have a good bit of savings. But why waste it on this? Seems pretty extravagant
The internet swears you’re broke if you don’t want to just throw money away.
Guaranteed that person is probably check to check themselves on the low.
Im sorry it was a joke, i can afford it but still feels pretty extravagant. You do you!
Even if that was a joke it’s just such a weird thing to say 😭
I must have been drunk i dont even remember saying that. Embarrassing lol
I have whiplash from the backpedaling
I also want to ask, did you actually really want the upgrades? Sure it wasn’t just FOMO getting to you
