Because before the OLED was announced everyone on this sub thought the steam deck was the second coming of Christ. Their old devices haven’t suddenly got worse - yeah sure if you want to spend quite a bit on the upgrade (selling an old deck may as well be giving it away atm), but people are saying “this sub made me do it”.

Oh no, I have a good bit of savings. But why waste it on this? Seems pretty extravagant

It doesn’t work. It can’t read the fan speed because it doesn’t know how to address the fans in the latest update, so how is it going to change its speed? I think (looking at the github page) it has been fixed in update v5 though

None. I have already wasted enough money on games I never play during my 9 years on steam
