I am using my S10+ for 4 years now and I have no reason to get a new phone apart from the lack of updates. It feels old without updates, if you understand what I mean. What is a big downside for not getting any updates anymore? Security maybe?

Coming from Apple my old IPhone was supported for what felt like ages.

I could spend the money on a new phone but I don’t really see the point. I don’t want to spend it just so I can get new updates. The S10+ just feels perfect, it’s crazy to me how good the battery is + performance and everything else. The phone also just looks good. It has no fault apart form regular updates.

Could you maybe list some reason why I should get a new phone or why I should still wait.

Get a new phone when your current phone no longer does what you want it to, battery is really bad and don’t want to replace it, or just bored with it and can afford a new one.

Otherwise keep it. Getting hacked on Android really only happens if you install apps outside the play store, and even then not very often.

If you use banking apps there will come a point where they will stop support for security, but still could be a few years from now.

TLDR: if you are happy with the phone don’t get a new one. I know people who use phones from 2015 and are happy with it. (J7 series)
