I just accepted a new job that’ll have me traveling regularly. I have a switch but I started looking into a Steam Deck because I’ve never been able to do PC gaming but have always wanted to, access to the steam library would be great. As luck would have it, my friend who has a 64 GB SD he doesn’t use is willing to sell me his for cheap, like $150. Of course as soon as I was getting ready to buy, they announced the OLED SD. I can afford the OLED but hadn’t been planning on buying a SD immediately until my friend offered me his for cheap. Do yall think it’s worth it to wait a bit and buy the OLED version or take advantage of the oppurnity to buy a heavily discounted LCD SD?

Depends on you and what you enjoy. In my case I prefer having the new and exciting toy with the best features even at a higher cost. I would choose an OLED steam deck not just for the OLED alone, but also the substantially greater battery life and 90hz and slightly larger display. All of those together are a pretty big upgrade that warrant the extra cost assuming you will be using this device often.

Listen I am a sucker for the OLED, 100%. I will sell my fully modded and loved deck and get the new OLED model but at that price, I will probably just get your friend’s and invest in a 1 or 2 TB SSD.

Get your friends Deck…get a 2TB SSD…get a 1TB Micro SD on Amazon and have $100 to spend on games for it…$550 spent

Or get a 512gb OLED that has a much better screen and negligible power gains than the LCD variant at the same price.

Jump on that deal! If you want to upgrade later you can easily resell the 64GB for a profit.
