Im looking for a new phone and came upon the S22, but it seems it has a pretty bad battery life. The S23 seems a bit too expensive for me right now… So I was wondering if buying the S21 now, is still good? Or is the battery of S22 not that bad after all?
Thanks in advance :)
My Redmi died, and I needed a new phone stat for work.
First shop I came to had a bunch of reconditioned S21 pluses for £230.
Figured it must be an old, shit phone (never had a Samsung before so the model meant nothing to me), but I needed a phone there and then, so handed my money over.
Suffice to say I’m blown away. It’s so far ahead of anything I’ve used before, it’s hilarious!
Looks like I have the snapdragon version, and to get a phone of this quality with a 12 month warranty for £230 means I won’t be buying new low end oppos/Redmis/etc. I’ll get a 2 Yr old Galaxy.instead.
TLDR - yep it’s still good.
I just upgraded from the S21 Ultra to the S23 Ultra (because I was overpaying for service and switching providers got me the new device even with a lower payment).
I did not find the S21 Ultra to be insufficient to my needs (light gaming, lots of taking pictures of my kid, texting/emailing for work and listening to music), and I don’t find the S23 to be a massive improvement. If the price is right I think you’ll be happy with it.
thanks
Just bought a refurbished S21 after owning an LG G6 for over 5 years. Does everything I could ever want, and I like the relatively smaller size vs. the plus.
Battery is good, but I’m also not on it all the time.
S21 ultra refurbished is the best budget flagship rn and it’s not even close. S23 ultra is the s21 ultra with slightly better camera and battery life
i have s21 and 14promax. To be honest, go with plus version cauz battery sucks on s21. Otherwise good phone, nice to use one-handed
Ive done a lot of looking at the s21-s23 and other android phones; S22 seems fine, theres also the budget version which is the Samsung 54A which looked nice for the price but would probably become laggy after 3~ years.
My personal plan for now is try to get an S23 Ultra on black friday (mostly just because the most important thing to me is battery life).

Choosing the right smartphone can be a challenging decision. The Samsung Galaxy S21 is still a capable device with good overall performance. While the battery life on the S22 may not be the best, it depends on your specific usage and preferences. If battery life is a critical factor for you, you might want to consider other options, such as the S23 or other smartphones with more extended battery life.
Consider your priorities, like camera quality, software updates, and specific features that matter to you, and compare them across the available models in your budget range. This will help you make an informed decision based on your unique needs and preferences.
Wait for the 24, get 23 cheaper.
Wait and save for S23.
Yes. Unless you have a specific need for some insane multitasking skills or a dedicated gamer, it’ll do what you need
S21+ or S21 Ultra. 2 best options I advise.
Isn’t the + just an oversized base 21?
Yes, with better battery.
Also bigger screen which consumes more battery?
Battery makes up for it and more. 800mah extra makes up for the extra 0.5in diagonally.
the + usually gets some extra nitpicky feature like the better linear haptic motor and Ultra Wideband
Hum … I don’t think that’s worth the 200€ + Samsung asks for it
wife has s21. she has never complained ever
she’s a facebook, youtube watcher, insta, a bunch of kids apps, phone calls, 2x a day video calls for 1 hr. and never ever ever once she complained about it.
Yes. Million times yes.
My personal opinion on the S22/23 is that they are the perfect marriage between the S-line and the Note-line, however the S21 provides all the same stuff minus the pen wich won’t be all that useful afterall.
The normal S-lines(21/22/23) are just minor upgrades, and battery life isn’t as bad on the S22 as people make it seem.
In my experience the battery life on the regular S22 (8Gen1) was truly awful. I ended up selling it and buying the regular S23 and it has been incredibly good, I can enjoy the experience of having a powerful small phone without worrying about the battery.
Actually true. I get about 5 to 5.5 hours sot. Good enough for me
Bought my s21 when it was first released and its been a fab phone. Battery life is not good now, but apart from that, never had any problems. I’m tempted to get the s23 if any good deals come out for Black Friday.
If u play games or do heavy lifting shit get the s23. When I left s23 my battery life was dwindling and overheating when gaming.
