I always said that the bigger the better when it comes to display size, and once you go big you can’t go back to smaller size (no pun intended).

I have the A54 which is amazing for what I do, all but one thing, convenience and security. I like using the fingerprint sensor, and security is the most important factor for me. That said, I have come to realize that the optical fingerprint sensor is hardly secure, and easily fooled by a 2D representation of the registered fingerprint, whereas the ultrasonic scanner that scans in 3D is virtually impossible to fool, and that is my only reason I am considering an upgrade.

Has anyone gone from bigger screen to smaller here? I would like your 2 cents, thanks.

    I had a OnePlus Nord (6.44 in) and upgraded to an S22. Didn’t see any drawbacks with the smaller screen, only positives honestly (better fit in pockets, way easier to use with one hand etc.)

    In this summer there was an amazing value trade-in deal when buying an S23 series phone tho and I upgraded to an S23 Ultra (upgrade to an S23 would’ve cost me 150€, it cost me 250€ to upgrade to the S23U).

    I chose the Ultra because the deal seemed way better value and given that I had an Exynos S22, I really wanted good battery life. I also enjoy the S23U’s cameras a lot and the S pen is nice to have.

    But sometimes I have thoughts that I should’ve gotten the S23, because I don’t really need this massive 6.8 in screen and the smaller form factor is much more convenient and comfortable for me. And given that the S23 also has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy and a battery size increase compared to the S22, I think it’s battery would’ve been good enough for me.

    When eventually in the mext few years I will be willing to upgrade, I think I will go back to the smaller form factor.

    So yeah, it’s really easy to adapt to a smaller screen and learn to appreciate all of it’s perks.
