Yeah I do, I still love it. The track pads are much better than the steam deck ones. The battery life is unbelievable. I only miss the 2 steam deck buttons really.
The IKEA Ladda 2450 mAh batteries are actually the same as Eneloops for a fraction of the price. IKEA’s charger is also very good and uses the hybrid approach for quick charging and taking them to max capacity. I use them in all my game controllers and they work great.
I actually don’t support game controllers with internal lithium batteries. They will wear out overtime and are harder to replace.
The trackpads ond the Steam controller are technically significantly less precise than the Steam Deck’s.
The concave and circular shape of the pads make them FEEL a lot better than they actually are.
The gyroscope on the controller is also a bit dated, making very precise movements a bit harder.
Imagine how amazing a new SC would be with all of valve’s latest tech.
i just sincerely hope the touchpads won’t fall short on the next Steam Controller. The deck touchpads aren’t comfortable to use for camera control on longer sessions
The new “Gyro To Mouse” Beta option, I believe, significantly improves the Steam Controller gyro (along with gyro in general). I read this on r/GyroGaming, where a Valve dev who works on it actually comments and reads feedback.

Do you use disposable batteries or rechargeable ones? I used the latter and battery didn’t last long…
I use eneloop pro batteries. They take up to 6 months on a single charge. No kidding
Eneloops are awesome 🙌

I’ve bought an 8 pack of rechargeable Eneloop NiMH for 20 bucks now almost 10 years ago and they have not degraded significantly.
I’m getting usually around 80 hours of use out of a single charge.
Same. Always have a pair of charged ones to pop in, so I don’t care too much if I have to change them every 2-3 weeks.
What chemistry rechargeable cells were you using?
Slow discharge NiMh batteries, I think from IKEA. They are manufactured in Japan, and I thought they are good.
NiMh is 1990s tech. Terrible batteries.
for a game controller they are more than suitable. The technology has also improved drastically since the 90s.
What is your suggestion?
NiMH batteries self-discharge themselves, that’s why they aren’t good for low-power devices
