Hello! Could help me out here a bit, I’ve wanted a gaming for about 10 years but since I’ve got limited space to work with and how expensive everything is I’m planning on buying an OLED tomorrow. Right now I’m in the middle of trying to pick a dock, I’m confused as to which one to get as I don’t know if I should get one with many or few USB ports. I want to be able to get either a M&K or controller, not both as to save space. Also, I heard that the deck can be tiring to hold so I don’t know if should invest into a dock that has a good angle to play from; That way I can save money before buying a monitor.
For reference this is the space I’m working with, it’s organized now but I usually share it with my little brother who may leave a couple belongings(phone, wallet, laptop, headlamps, a flashlight)
I’d say 3+ usb ports so one of them can be used for an external drive, and 2 for m+k. No need to go top of the line with Valve’s official dock or something similar, personally I’ve been using the cheapest, most generic dock that I could find and it has been serving me well for like 18 months.
Get official dock. Dont get controller, steam deck itself is lierally a xbox controller. Instead get mouse and keyboard. You have less space so get something called tkl ie ten key less keyboards, they are much smaller. Both keyboard and mouse should be wired preferably.
