Well to be fair to a legitimate seller, the two weeks helps take pressure off of them. AND it helps with eBay being able to say to a scam seller: we even gave you an extra 2 weeks to get this settled.
I have had a scam item I purchased from eBay take 2 months from purchase to me getting my $$ back. But it happened because eBay laid down the law and forcibly took it back for me.
I love eBay, it just sucks how many scammers inhabit the platform. With a little diligence it’s an awesome shopping platform.
This guy is trying to run a scam on you. He will say he never got it back and tell you to claim through insurance.

This, ebay sides with the buyer unless the seller has solid evidence of scumery.
My MiL is a seller and the shit buyers will pull to get a free item or discounts or whatever. It’s disgusting.
